Can someone take their payout and refuse to keep contributing?
Direct debit mandates and trust scoring make walk-aways costly and visible.
The walk-away problem
In informal circles, a member sometimes collects early, then stops paying — leaving others to cover the shortfall. Without enforcement, the group absorbs the loss or falls apart.
Mandates enforce commitment
Before joining, you authorize a direct debit mandate for the agreed contribution amount. Each round, the platform attempts collection automatically. You are notified immediately if a debit fails, and you can retry or update your linked account from Payments.
Trust score and reputation
On-time contributions build your trust score. Repeated missed debits lower it and may pause your ability to join new circles. Other members can see contribution reliability without seeing your private bank details.
Escrow protects the pool
Even if someone tries to skip, the platform’s records show exactly who paid and who did not. Disputes are resolved against verifiable transaction history — not hearsay.
